2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions :



Easily one of the most diverse product releases each year, 2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions is back with a wide variety of collecting goodies.

Every hobby box yields three hits from a group that includes autographs, single or dual memorabilia cards,
manufactured patch cards, original art cards and audio booklets.

The 2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions base set comes in at an even 100 cards.
There are also 25 Black & White Short Prints and 25 Black & White Portrait Short Prints.

Mini Cards add more depth to the base set and feature a good mix of parallels.
These include Canvas, Cloth (#/35), Wood (#/25), Leather (#/15) and Gold (1/1).

Boasting all on-card signatures, the autograph lineup in 2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions features several options.

Baseball Rookie Autographs (1:60 packs) pick up the numbering after the base and short prints.

Goodwin Autographs (1:36 packs) are the most common signed cards, while the more rare pulls include Goudey Autographs (1:560 packs),
Sports Royalty Autographs (1:2,560 packs), Monster Artist Autographs (#/25) and Goodwin Cut Signatures.

Tiger Woods, Mike Tyson, LeBron James, Maria Sharapova, Wayne Gretzky
and Peyton Manning are some of the top names found in Goudey Autographs and the Sports Royalty Autographs sets.

Memorabilia cards are equally well represented in 2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions, with Goodwin Memorabilia (1:24 packs)
and Goodwin Black & White Memorabilia (1:320 packs) cards, Goudey Athletes Memorabilia (1:80 packs)

and Goudey Personalities Memorabilia (1:1,280 packs) cards, and Sports Royalty Memorabilia (1:320 packs)
and Sports Royalty Dual Swatch Memorabilia (1:2,560 packs) cards.

All memorabilia sets also have a numbered Premium Series parallel.

While collectors were treated to World War I relics in 2014 Goodwin Champions,
the focus of the Museum Collection Relics in 2015 is centered on the Roaring Twenties.

These unique relic cards include embedded pieces from items such as a signed check from Elliott Ness, an Al Capone wire photo,
a Model T ignition key, a Louis Armstrong 78 record, a flapper's clothing, political pinbacks

and the shell casing from a Tommy Gun used in the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.

Adding a modern touch to a classic moment, Historical Rhetoric Audio Booklet Cards feature a two-panel design that includes
an audio clip from a noteworthy event in history.

Picking up from the first installment in 2014 that featured The Dawn of Complex Life, Origin of Species Patch Cards (1:64 packs)
are back in 2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions.

The theme is the Age of Dinosaurs, with a specific focus on Herbivores, Predators, Armored, Marine, Large Predator and Flying.

The final installment of the three-year insert set comes in 2016 with the Age of Mammals.

Game of Chance cards are a new addition that mimics the look of painted playing cards and uses lenticular technology.

The 54-card set falls, on average, four per case (1:80 packs). There are also Game of Chance Artist Autographs, numbered to 25.

2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions is also the site of the final release for Goodwin Masterpieces Art of the Ages Paintings (1/1).

Up to 300 new cards are included, featuring new renditions of classic paintings from Claude Monet,
Edvard Munch, Paul Gauguin and Michelangelo.

Monster Update (1:1,800 packs) offers new additions to the Monsters 3-D insert set that was prominently featured in 2014.

Finally, Goudey Athletes (1:5 packs), Goudey Personalities (1:20 packs) inserts round out the product.

quirky collector favorite is back again this year as early details have surfaced regarding 2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions.
Known as the place to find truly unique pieces of memorabilia along with a strong mix of athletes from a variety of sports,
this brand has established a reputation all of its own for delivering the kind of cards you simply will not find in other releases.

With three hits in every box, the potential of finding a strong card is always present
and the company noted that all of the Autograph cards will be hard-signed.
There are plenty of other interesting concepts returning once again and some new ones that may gather a following as well.

What can collectors expect to find in boxes of 2015 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions? Find out after the jump.

While a design for the 100-card base set was not provided by Upper Deck, it is likely that the subjects
will once again be shown in either casual attire or in uniforms where logos have been removed.

There will be 10 shortprinted Black & White High Series cards per box as well and they are split into regular
and portrait versions with 25 cards of each type completing the set.

In terms of parallels, each box should contain a total of five Goodwin Champions Minis and two of those will be of either the Leather,
Canvas, Cloth or Wood variety.

As expected, Goudey insert cards are back again and there will be five per box.
Goudey Sport Royalty cards will be a tougher pull and there will be Goudey Autographs with big names like Tiger Woods, Mike Tyson and Wayne Gretzky.

Museum Collection Relics are back in 2015 and this time, the theme is the Roaring 20s.
Relive a wild decade through some intriguing artifacts that include such items as an Al Capone wire photo,
a Model T ignition key, political pins, a Louis Armstrong 78 rpm record,

a signed Elliott Ness check and even a Tommy Gun shell casing attributed to the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.

New to Goodwin Champions this year is a pair of intriguing concepts that may generate interest from collectors.
Historical Rhetoric Audio Booklets are two-panel cards which bear a wide image of a famous event
and will play an audio clip of the speech related to the image.

Game of Chance is something truly different for a trading card release as collectors can put together a deck of 54 lenticular playing cards
that fall four times per case. The challenge becomes even greater with the Artist Autograph parallels that are limited to 25 copies each.

Returning for 2015 are the Origin of Species cards and there will be an average of five per case.
This year, the theme will be Age of Dinosaurs and is split into six different subsets that sees 100 different cards seeded at varying rates.

Next year, the 300-card set will be completed with Age of Mammals.

The popular Goodwin Masterpieces Art of the Ages cards will return again in 2015, but it will be their final appearance in the product
and close a memorable three-year run.

There will be up to 300 different hand-painted one-of-one cards and some of the artists
that will be honored include Claude Monet, Paul Gaugin and Edvard Munch.

Summer is here and the 2015 edition of Goodwin Champions is having the final touches put on it as we ready for the official release date of June 30th.
As has become custom with Goodwin Champions, the “weird stuff” is what makes this release so interesting each year.

For 2015, we’ve added a several new elements, including a collection of 1-of-1 Cut Signatures highlighted by names like Bill Gates,
Stephen King and Marlon Brando plus a slate of inscribed, hard-signed autograph cards
from legends such as “Mr. Clutch” Jerry West, “Bird Man” Tony Hawk and the “Finnish Flash” Teemu Selanne.

One of the weirdest new elements is the 54-card 3-D lenticular “Game of Chance” insert set.
Seeded at a rate of one in four hobby boxes on average, these cards feature stunning original art
in a set that when completed is a 100% functional deck of cards. Look for rare Artist Autograph variations #’d of 25 per too!

Another new “concept card” is the Historical Rhetoric audio booklets, featuring audio clips
from some of the most famous speeches from the past 150 years including John F. Kennedy’s “Inaugural Address”,
Winston Churchill’s “We Will Fight on the Beaches” and Ronald Reagan’s “Remarks at the Brandenburg Gate”.

These rare cards are available via planned redemption with exchange cards falling at 1 in every 660 packs on average.

Speaking of Reagan’s “Remarks at Brandenburg Gate”, keep an eye out for two very special Goudey Memorabilia redemptions
for cards of Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, each featuring material from the Berlin Wall.

We’d be remiss to discuss any edition of Goodwin Champions without devoting some time to the ever-popular Museum Collection Relics.
Coming off the heels of the Civil War in 2013 and World War I in 2014, this year’s product focuses on “The Roaring

20’s” . . . a decade fueled by sustained economic prosperity that laid down many of the foundations for modern pop culture heralded
by the explosion of Jazz and Big Band music, modern femininity with the brash wave of young Flappers
and the ominous specter of Gangsters.

Look for more than 25 different historical pieces highlighted by a stunning wire photo of Al Capone
and a signed check from Capone’s nemesis Elliott Ness, leader of “The Untouchables”.

The base set features an all-new 50-card Black and White painted subset, with premium memorabilia and hard-signed auto parallels.

The final fifteen cards from the base set once again feature a selection of baseball’s top prospects on hard-signed cards
(seeded at a rate of 1 in every 60 packs on average) including 5-tool infielder Dermis Garcia.

In all, seven of the 15 subjects are ranked amongst Baseball America’s Top 100 prospects.

New signers for this year include 2014 Boston Marathon Winner Meb Keflezighi, MMA All-Time Great Georges St. Pierre
and legendary Comic creator Stan Lee.

In addition to the new signers, look for signatures from Tiger Woods, Wayne Gretzky, Mike Tyson,
Nolan Ryan, Mark McGwire and LeBron James.

The base set Mini parallels have been upgraded to feature a different substrate for each level including Canvas
(announced at 99 copies per), Cloth Lady Luck Backs (#’d of 50 per),

Leather Magician Backs (#’d of 15 per) and of course the 1-of-1 Gold Rainbow Foil presidential Backs.

Look for almost 300 different, all-new, hand-painted, 1-of-1 Art of the Ages cards.

These cards are truly stunning homages to masterpieces ranging from Van Gogh to Modigliani.

The Origin of Species manufactured patch cards return for the second of three planned years of cards tracing
the origins of life itself on planet Earth.

The 2015 cards feature a selection of 100 different creatures from the time of the dinosaurs.

Look for these cards falling at a rate of 1 in every 64 packs (i.e. five per sealed case), with rare high series cards
including Large Predators (1:1,785) and Flying Creatures (1:8,685).
